Usher Ministry
The responsibility of the Ushers Ministry is to be the DOORKEEPERS of God's house. We greet the congregation and visitors with a smile and warm greeting as we seat them. We make sure they feel welcome and see to their needs (fans, envelopes, and visitor packets, etc.)
Ushering is considered as the Fourth Great Ministry of the Church, listed thusly: Preaching, Teaching, Music and Ushering.
"Let all things be done decent and in order." (1 Corinthians 14:40) must be kept foremost by each usher as he or she sets out rendering this great service. The usher should be forever on the job. It is responsibility of the usher to be at all services ahead of time and set things in order. There must always be close cooperation among the functioning of these four great ministries - Preaching, Teaching, Music, Ushering.
Qualities Of A Good Usher
Truly a person must be born again to be a good usher. An usher should let nothing separate him or her from the love of God. An usher must be persuaded "that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor department, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is Christ Jesus, our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)
